Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept my insurance?

We currently accept the following insurance plans:

  • Medicare
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas
  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Humana
  • Tricare

If your carrier isn’t listed, please call our office at (830) 265-6000 β€” we can verify your benefits and explain self-pay options. Insurance coverage varies by plan; we recommend confirming benefits before your visit.

What if I don’t have insurance, or my plan considers you out of network?

We see uninsured and out-of-network patients regularly, and our self-pay pricing is straightforward.

Cash-Pay Pricing

New patient evaluation β€” starting at $397
Includes the evaluation visit with Dr. Henry, plus X-rays and sonograms of both feet. Additional cost only if the visit requires medical items like a cast boot.

Fungal toenail assessment β€” $170
For visits limited to fungal nail evaluation. X-rays and sonograms are not required.

  • Out-of-network plans with OON benefits: If your plan allows out-of-network reimbursement, we’ll provide an itemized superbill after your visit that you can submit to your insurance carrier. Many patients recover a meaningful portion of their costs this way; the exact reimbursement is set by your plan.
  • HMO or strict in-network-only plans: If your plan does not permit out-of-network care, we can still provide a one-time consultation at our self-pay rate β€” a common path for patients seeking a non-surgical second opinion before committing to surgery elsewhere.
  • Payment: We accept HSA and FSA payment, CareCredit, and major credit cards.

Please contact us at (830) 265-6000 with any questions about pricing or coverage.

Do I need a referral to schedule an appointment?

Most insurance plans do not require a referral to see a podiatrist. A few HMO plans do. If you’re unsure, contact your insurance carrier or call our office and we’ll help verify.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. We are actively accepting new patients, and most new patients are seen within a day or two. To schedule, call (830) 265-6000 or message us through the chat widget at the bottom of the page.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Please bring:

  • Photo ID and insurance card(s)
  • A list of current medications
  • Any imaging (X-rays, MRI, ultrasound) or records related to your condition
  • Shoes you wear most often, and any current orthotics or braces
What about new patient paperwork?

After your appointment is scheduled, you’ll receive an email through our scheduling system (JaneApp) with a link to complete your intake forms online before your visit.

We strongly encourage completing your forms ahead of time so your full appointment can be spent with Dr. Henry rather than at the front desk.

If you’re unable to complete the forms online, please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time so you can complete them in our office.

I’ve been told I need foot surgery β€” can you give me a second opinion?

Yes. Second opinions are a regular part of our practice. We are board-certified in foot surgery but keep approximately 95% of patients out of the operating room through conservative, biomechanically grounded care. When you call or message us through the chat widget, please mention that you’ve been told you need surgery and would like a second opinion.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

Most new patients are seen within a day or two. If you call right after we open, we can sometimes work you in the same day. For acute concerns, please call our office directly at (830) 265-6000 β€” we’ll do our best to accommodate.

How do I reach you after hours?

For medical emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

For non-emergency questions outside of business hours, please leave a voicemail at (830) 265-6000 and we’ll return your call the next business day.

Ready to schedule?

Our front desk can answer questions and book appointments directly. You can also message us through the chat widget at the bottom of the page.
